MAHRA, May 04 (YPA) – Dozens of women closed the Sarfait border crossing with the Sultanate of Oman on Sunday in the Hawf district of Mahra province, which is under the Saudi-led coalition’s control in eastern Yemen, in protest against the ongoing power outages and deteriorating services.
The protesting women at the Sarfait crossing held an open-ended sit-in in front of the gate, disrupting movement in and out of the border crossing.
The protests reflect growing popular discontent over the deterioration of basic services in the provinces under the coalition’s control, amid demands for local authorities to alleviate the suffering of citizens.
