LAHJ, May 04 (YPA) – The Al-Aziba tribes rallied on Sunday in the Sabr area of Lahj province, in southern Yemen, preparing to march to the city of Al-Hawtah, the province’s capital, to demand the handover of those accused of assassinating Sheikh Adel Obaid Al-Azibi.
Local sources in the province explained that the Al-Aziba tribes accuse the leader of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions and former Al-Qaeda leader, known as Abdul Hadi Ali Faraj, of involvement in the assassination, along with Ismail Abdul Hakim, who serves as the personal aide to the commander of the “Security Belt Forces” in Lahj, Hussein Al-Saeed.
The sources indicated that the authorities loyal to the Saudi-led coalition are attempting to cover up the suspects, without providing details or revealing the circumstances of the crime since it occurred in the Al-Wahtah area in August 2023.
