ISLAMABAD, May 03 (YPA) – Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with ambassadors of Gulf States, including , including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates, as part of efforts to de-escalate and defuse tensions with India following the recent attack in Kashmir, the office of Pakistani Prime Minister said .
In separate meetings, Shehbaz Sharif briefed the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the UAE on Islamabad’s position regarding the April 22 attack in Kashmir, which left 26 people dead, most of them Hindus.
India has accused Pakistan of being behind the attack, an allegation Islamabad strongly denies.
Sharif’s office stated on Friday that he urged “brotherly countries, including Saudi Arabia, to put pressure on India to de-escalate and reduce tensions, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability in South Asia.
