DAMASCUS, May 03 (YPA) – Israeli occupation warplanes launched a wide-scale attack on Syria, targeting the capital Damascus and its surroundings, as well as multiple governorates across the country, including Hama, Daraa, and Latakia.
Israeli airstrikes hit rural areas of Damascus, northwestern Hama, and northern Daraa between Friday night and Saturday, resulting in several injuries.
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), Israeli aircraft carried out a strike near the village of Shatha in the northwestern countryside of Hama, and another near the town of Muthbin in northern Daraa.
In Latakia’s countryside, airstrikes struck the al-Sha‘ra region, while further south, Israeli jets were observed flying heavily over Damascus and its outskirts.
Earlier, SANA reported that four people were killed in an airstrike targeting a farm in the Kanaker area, west of As-Suwayda in southern Syria.
Also on Friday, the Israeli occupation army targeted sites near the Syrian presidential palace in Damascus.
The Syrian presidency stated that “the Israeli bombing near the presidential palace represents a dangerous escalation against state institutions and sovereignty, and a continuation of reckless actions aimed at destabilizing the country and worsening the security crises.
