MAHRA, May 02 (YPA) – Ali Mubarak Mahamed, the spokesman for the sit-in committee opposing foreign forces in Mahra province, strongly condemned the severe deterioration of basic services across the province, particularly the continuous power outages lasting over 20 hours per day.
In a post on the X platform (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Mahamed stated that the electricity crisis is not a sudden emergency , but rather a result of systemic neglect and widespread corruption, which reflects the daily suffering of citizens due to the collapse of public services and the absence of basic living conditions.
He attributed the worsening situation to the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, which he said controls the fate of Yemenis in areas under the so-called “legitimate” government’s authority.
Mahamed posed a rhetorical question: “How much longer must the people of Al-Mahra and other provinces bear the burden of corruption and subjugation? Don’t the people have the right to live with dignity?”
He added that the Sit-In Committee will continue to expose violations against citizens and policies that exacerbate their suffering, while calling for popular mobilization to end the state of collapse and subservience to foreign powers.
