UN warns Gaza crisis is rapidly deteriorating amid aid blockade

GAZA, April 30 (YPA) -Olga Cherevko, spokesperson for United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), warned Wednesday that the situation is “rapidly deteriorating” due to the ongoing blockade of aid shipments entry into Gaza.

She explained that food supplies are nearly exhausted, famine conditions are expanding, and there are growing concerns about potential disease outbreaks

Cherevko stressed that available resources are insufficient and the current situation cannot be contained, as critical aid shipments risk spoiling before reaching civilians due to the continued closure of border crossings.

She called for the urgent need to allow humanitarian aid access in accordance with international law, the reopening of the crossings, restoration of the ceasefire, and an end to displacement.
