GAZA, April 28 (YPA) -The Israeli occupation military has continued its deadly campaign on the Gaza Strip for the 42nd consecutive day, following Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s withdrawal from a ceasefire agreement. This escalation is backed by US political and military support, amid a muted response from the international community.
Palestinian sources report that dozens of airstrikes and home demolitions have taken place, while a sustained blockade on basic food supplies—ongoing since early March—has deepened the humanitarian crisis. The escalating crisis paints a bleak picture of the worsening famine affecting Gaza’s population.
A young girl, Maram Jaber Mousa Madi, succumbed to wounds sustained during a bombing near a tent sheltering displaced families close to Al-Tayba camp, west of Khan Younis.
Meanwhile, the bodies of two martyrs were recovered from the rubble of their home, destroyed in a strike on Jorat Al-Lot.
Israeli warplanes also targeted the eastern outskirts of Rafah, while artillery shelling struck the Tuffah and Shuja’iyya neighborhoods of Gaza City and areas near Al-Bureij camp. Additionally, Israeli military vehicles opened heavy fire toward eastern Gaza City.
In Jabalia, northern Gaza, medical sources confirmed that ten Palestinians were killed, and many others injured in an Israeli strike targeting the Abu Mohadi family home, west of the Jabalia refugee camp.
Two martyrs and several others were injured when an Israeli airstrike hit a tent housing displaced people in Al-Shafa’i camp, located west of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
