Bulgaria demands Israeli occupation to compensate family of Bulgarian officer killed in Gaza

SANAA, April 26 (YPA) – Bulgarian Foreign Minister, Georgi Georgiev, called on the Israeli occupation to pay fair compensation to the family of officer Marin Marinov, the UN employee who was killed in an Israeli bombardment in the Gaza Strip.

Georgiev said in a statement published yesterday, that his country had received official information from Tel Aviv confirming that Marinov was killed by an Israeli tank shell on March 19.

The minister indicated that the Israeli side had apologized to Bulgaria, but noted that his country would insist on paying fair compensation to Marinov’s family.

“We also strongly demand that such incidents not be repeated,” Georgiev added.

It is noteworthy that Marinov was killed on March 19 during an attack on a UN headquarters in the city of Deir al-Balah in the Gaza Strip.
