QAIRO, April 22 (YPA) – A new round of negotiations will be expected to begin within the next two days in an attempt to reach a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement between Hamas and Israeli occupation, according to Palestinian media outlets.
The Palestinian Ma’an News Agency reported that a Hamas delegation was expected to arrive in Cairo to discuss a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
For its part, the Qatari-backed Al-Araby Al-Jadeed channel said that an Israeli delegation arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, as a result of US pressure to continue negotiations with Hamas.
“American pressures are parallel to the pressures on the ground facing the Israeli enemy army,” according to the sources. “The delegation met overnight with the Egyptian mediation team from the General Intelligence Service. The topic discussed was Hamas’s proposal regarding preparations for the comprehensive deal.”
The two sides discussed the latest developments in the war and the proposal presented by Hamas during the final speech by Hamas delegation head Khalil al-Hayya regarding preparations for a comprehensive deal to end the war in Gaza.
