Hadramout tribes reject STC’s calls for mobilization

HADRAMOUT, April 20 (YPA) – Hadramaut tribes have rejected a mass rally that the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) called on next Thursday in the city of Mukalla, the capital of Hadramaut, in response to the “Tribal Alliance’s declaration of “autonomy”.

Thaein tribes in Hadramaut announced in a statement their boycott of the STC event in Mukalla, which they described as a provocative step to the province’s sons, holding all those involved fully tribally responsible.

The statement said it supported the demand for “autonomy” approved by Hadramout sheikhs as a just demand, demanding that the STC should cancel the call, which comes amid a fierce escalation that could lead to an explosion.

The tribe denounced the UAE forces’ deployment of armed factions from Aden, Lahj, and Dhalea to Mukalla, calling for the withdrawal of these factions from their province.

The tribe’s statement warned the STC against bringing chaos to Hadramout, considering the Mukalla event to be “pouring oil on the fire and provoking the sons of the province.
