SANAA, April 18 (YPA) -The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning forecasted on Friday clear to partly cloudy weather during the night and early morning, with possible fog formation in some areas.
During the daytime, conditions are expected to shift between partly cloudy and cloudy, with a chance of varying intensities of thunderstorm rainfall over the provinces of Amran, Sanaa, Mahwit, Dhamar, and Raymah, the center said in its 24-hour weather bulletin.
The center also predicted scattered rainfall over the provinces of Saada, Hajjah, Dhalea, Ibb, Taiz, and the western parts of Jawf, Marib, and Bayda, as well as over the highlands of Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa, and Hadramaut during the afternoon and evening hours.
For coastal areas, the weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy over the Socotra Archipelago and the eastern coasts, and partly cloudy to cloudy over the western coasts, the Tihama plain, southern coasts, and adjacent inland areas, with a chance of scattered rainfall, according to the center.
” Winds are expected to be active, reaching up to 28 knots over the southern part of the western coast, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the western Gulf of Aden.”
Desert areas will generally experience clear and hot daytime weather, with possible cumulonimbus cloud formation over western parts. Winds may occasionally become active, raising dust and sand.
The Meteorological and Early Warning Center renewed its warnings to residents in areas where rainfall is expected, cautioning against flash floods in valleys and streams, as well as thunderstorm activity and strong downdraft winds.
It also advised the motorists using mountain roads to take precautions due to reduced visibility caused by rain, low clouds, and fog.
