Series of US airstrikes hit multiple provinces in Yemen

PROVINCES, April 16 (YPA) -US aggression warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes targeting multiple provinces in Yemen, on Tuesday evening and early Wednesday morning, in support of Israeli occupation forces’ genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza  Strip.

According to local sources, the US aircraft targeted the eastern outskirts of Saada city with three airstrikes, launched six strikes on the Al-Salem district, four on the Kitaf district, and with three airstrikes on the Majz district In Saada.

In Bayda, the aggression aircraft launched a series of airstrikes on Al-Zahir district.

In Hodeida, the American enemy targeted Kamaran Island with more than 15 airstrikes.

The sources confirmed that the US has expanded the scope of its aggression by launching an attack on the Mayfa’at ‘Anss district in Dhamar province as well as on Harf Sufyan district in Amran province.

The American forces appear to be escalating their attacks in a failed attempt to conceal their setbacks and promote their air campaign, which has so far failed to curb the growing Yemeni operations in support of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

The US air launched a campaign against Yemen began on March 15, 2025, following Yemen’s decision to resume retaliatory attacks on Israel in response to Israel’s intensified operations in Gaza. Since the initiation of the airstrikes, US forces have targeted civilian infrastructure throughout Yemen, including communication networks, power plants, and water reservoirs, on an almost daily basis.

Washington justifies its airstrikes by claiming they are aimed at restoring freedom of navigation in the waters around Yemen. However, Yemen has rejected these claims, stating that its military operations are specifically directed against Israeli-linked vessels and not international shipping
