BEIJING, April 15 (YPA) – The Chinese authorities on Tuesday prevented local airlines from purchasing Boeing aircraft, equipment, and spare parts in the context of the trade war with the United States.
According to Bloomberg, companies have been instructed not to accept any new Boeing aircraft as part of this trade confrontation.
The Chinese authorities also advised airlines not to purchase any equipment or spare parts for aircraft from American companies.
Observers believe that this decision will greatly affect Boeing’s manufacturing and logistics operations, especially with about 12 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft being prepared for Chinese aviation fleets, and it is still unclear whether the ban includes these aircraft or not.
In return, China is considering providing support to airlines that lease Boeing aircraft to compensate for the increasing costs.
