SANAA, April 09 (YPA) -The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the capital Sanaa has strongly condemned the ongoing American aggression against the Republic of Yemen, particularly the recent attack on a residential neighborhood in the al-Hawak district of Hodeida province. The attack left 11 martyrs, including 5 women and 4 children, and 16 wounded.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the ministry confirmed that the American aggression since mid-March has claimed the lives of 107 civilians and injured 223 others, most of them women and children.
The ministry considered this aggression as a flagrant violation of Yemen’s sovereignty and all international laws and norms.
The statement emphasized that this American aggression violates the United Nations Charter, which prohibits the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state.
The ministry affirmed that this aggression represents an extension of the aggression launched by the Saudi-led coalition against Yemen for nearly a decade, warning that the continuation and escalation of these attacks will be met with “stronger and more painful” blows.
The statement emphasized that those who threaten navigation in the Red Sea are the ones who came from the farthest corners of the earth to militarize it.
” The world knows very well that Yemen has used the Red Sea as leverage to pressure the Zionist entity to stop its siege and the genocidal crimes it commits against the Palestinian people. This comes after the Security Council failed to fulfill its role in this regard due to the American veto, as well as the Arab and Islamic abandonment of the Palestinian people,” the statement read.
The ministry called on the international community to condemn the US aggression, which it claims threatens regional and global security.
It expressed gratitude for the nations and individuals who have already condemned the attacks, reiterating Yemen’s legitimate right under international law to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The statement held the United States fully responsible for the repercussions of this aggression on regional stability, the escalation of tensions in the Red Sea, and the threats to international navigation.
It concluded by saying that “security and stability in the region will only be achieved by ending the aggression and blockade on Gaza and ensuring the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.”
