ADEN, April 08 (YPA) – Students at Aden University strongly rejected the continued suspension of classes on Monday, calling it a “blatant violation of their right to education.”
In a statement, the Student Union expressed its support for the university presidency’s statement issued on Sunday, which highlighted the urgent need to resume classes and prevent the loss of the second academic semester.
The union also appealed to the Presidential Leadership Council, the Council of Ministers, and the Governor of Aden loyal to Saudi-led coalition to intervene urgently and address education-related issues.
The students demanded that the Faculty Union refrain from using them as leverage in negotiations, warning that their future should not be jeopardized in a “battle for rights.”
They renewed their call for faculty members to return to the lecture halls and resume their educational mission.
In response to the ongoing suspension, the students threatened to take “peaceful escalatory steps” to defend their right to education and reject the politicization of their future.
They emphasized that teachers’ rights do not conflict with students’ rights and that “saving education today is a national responsibility.”
