Pro-Palestinian activists disrupt BNY Mellon’s recruitment event in Manchester

WORLD, April 07 (YPA) – Pro-Palestinian activists in Manchester disrupted BNY Mellon’s recruitment event. They exposed its £10 million investment in Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer, accusing it of complicity in the crimes committed against Palestinians in Gaza.

Similarly, Palestine Action activists occupied the entrance of Aviva’s Manchester office.

They climbed on top of the revolving doors, stuck Palestine flags on the wall and a banner to the front which reads “Aviva Palestina”.

Aviva provide insurance for UAV Engines, a weapons factory owned by Israel’s biggest weapons firm.

This move came after protests targeting the insurance company “Allianz,” as part of a series of events organized by the movement against companies linked to the Israeli arms industry.

According to Israeli occupation military data, Elbit Systems is Israel’s largest military manufacturer, producing 85% of the army’s ground equipment and 85% of the drones used by its air force.

The company also serves as primary contractor for Gaza’s ‘smart’ security barrier project – the same barrier breached during Operation ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’ in October 2023.
