TEHRAN, March 16 (YPA) – Iran strongly condemned the US and British aggression against Yemen, describing it as a flagrant violation of the UN Charter and international law, and asserting that it comes in the context of supporting the genocide against the Palestinians and the continued occupation of Palestine.
According to the Iranian news agency “IRNA,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said, “This aggression is a flagrant violation of the principles of the United Nations Charter and the basic rules of international law that prohibit the use of force and respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of states.”
The Iranian spokesman emphasized that this joint military attack against the resistant Yemeni people comes within the framework of the two countries’ continued support for the genocidal crimes being perpetrated against the Palestinian people, and an attempt to suppress any form of solidarity and support for the legitimate rights of Palestinians.
He pointed out that the roots of insecurity in the West Asia region lie in the ongoing killing and occupation in occupied Palestine, which continues with the full support of the United States, Britain, and some other Western countries, placing regional and international peace and security in unprecedented danger.
