Sanaa calls Interpol International to stop sale of Yemeni antiquities at Liveauctioneers

SANAA, Mar. 15 (YPA) – The General Authority of Antiquities has called on international organizations and the international Interpol to intervene to stop the sale of Yemeni artifacts displayed at the Liveauctioneers auction, which is expected to be sold this month.

The authority stated in a statement that its tracking and monitoring team found these pieces offered for sale, considering this a violation of the rich Yemeni cultural heritage.

The statement asked these organizations to assume their moral and legal responsibilities and cooperate with efforts to protect the Yemeni heritage, as it is part of the global cultural heritage, and stop crimes that do not fall into the statute of limitations.

The authority called on everyone who has any information about the stolen antiquities and looted sites to initiate communication with the authority via an email: info@gam.gov.ye.

The statement mentioned that the auction link in which these artifacts were displayed is https://www.liveauctioneers.com/search/?keyword=So…
