OCCUPIED QUDS, Mar. 03 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation forces stormed the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque on the second night of the month of Ramadan during the performance of the Isha and Tarawih prayers.
According to Palestine Today Agency, Jerusalemite sources reported on Sunday evening that these forces raided the mosque while worshipers were performing their religious duties.
For its part, the Islamic Endowments Department in Al-Quds (Jerusalem) estimated that more than 75,000 worshipers performed the Isha and Tarawih prayers inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque, most of whom are residents of the Holy City or areas located within the 1948 territories.
This impressive presence comes despite the restrictions and strict military measures imposed by the Israeli occupation forces on entering the mosque, as thousands of West Bank residents are prevented from reaching Quds to pray.
Coinciding with the month of Ramadan, the occupation authorities have strengthened their security presence in Al-Quds city and the suburbs of Al-Aqsa Mosque with the aim of restricting the access of worshipers.
In addition, the Israeli occupation forces obstructed the passage of worshipers through the Al-Amoud and Al-Asbat gates, checking the IDs of those arriving, and detained a number of young men and prevented them from entering the mosque.
