Water Ministry condemns coalition targeting of water project in Saada

SANAA, July 23 (YPA) – The Ministry of Water and Environment condemned the coalition airstrike which  targeted Al-Nashour water project in Saada province.

The ministry said in a statement received by Yemen Press Agency that the targeting of the Saada water project and the previous targeting of the main water lines in Hodeidah as well as the lifting station for sewerage No. 5 is contrary to the international laws and legislation that criminalize the targeting of water sources.

The ministry condemned such criminal acts, appealing the United Nations and international organizations to condemn these actions and pressure the countries of coalition not to target water projects because it is a war crime against the Yemeni people.

The statement pointed out that many of the projects of water and infrastructure have been shelled directly since the beginning of the coalition war.
