Al-Qassam Brigades issue new statement regarding prisoner exchange deal

GAZA, Feb. 19 (YPA) -The spokesperson for the Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, confirmed this evening, that the resistance will handover the bodies of the ‘Bibas’ family and the body of another prisoner on Thursday as part of the prisoner exchange deal.

“As part of Al-Aqsa Flood deal for prisoner exchange, the resistance will handover the bodies of the Bibas family and the body of the prisoner Oded Lifshitz tomorrow, Thursday, corresponding to 20/2/2025,”Abu Obedia said in a statement.

He added, “They were alive before their detention centres were deliberately bombed by the Zionist occupation aircraft.”

For his part, the military spokesman for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s (PIJ) Quds Brigades, Abu Hamza, announced that Al-Quds Brigades have decided to release the remains of Israeli prisoner Oded Lifshitz, one of the detainees whom the Israeli military deliberately killed in airstrikes during the Al-Aqsa Flood battle.

He added,” The release is set to take place on Thursday, February 20, 2025, as part of the seventh batch of the first phase of the prisoner exchange deal.”

Meanwhile, Abu Bilal, spokesperson for the Mujahideen Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Mujahideen Movement, announced that the bodies of the Bibas family will be transferred in Gaza tomorrow.

He stated that the family was captured on 7 October 2023 and had been treated in accordance with Islamic teachings.

Bilal claimed that the Bibas family members were killed by Israeli airstrikes and that the Mujahideen Brigades had “preserved” their bodies.

Abu Bilal further noted that the Mujahideen Brigades had preserved the bodies of the Israeli prisoners throughout the stages of the war until the handover date.
