Civil society unions call for mass protest in Taiz

TAIZ, Feb. 16 (YPA) – Civil society unions in Taiz have called for a massive demonstration, on Sunday, February 16, in areas, which are under control of the Islah Party, to demand the improvement of employees’ conditions and address the economic collaps

The call for the protest included demands to improve living conditions, halt the economic collapse, approve settlements, allowances, and bonuses for state employees, reform the wage scale, implement the health insurance law, and provide basic services such as water, electricity, and healthcare for all citizens.

For several weeks, state employees in Taiz have been holding massive demonstrations every Sunday to pressure the government and the Presidential Leadership Council loyal to the Saudi-led coalition to meet their demands, but without success.
