Woman killed, another injured due to armed clashes in Shabwa

SHABWA, Feb. 12 (YPA) – A woman was killed and another was seriously injured, on Wednesday, due to armed clashes broke out in Shabwa governorate, which is under the control of factions affiliated with the UAE.

Local sources reported that clashes broke out between Al Hussein bin Suhail and Al Jazea’ Al Maraziq tribes in Al-Hank area of Nisab district, west of the city of Ataq, the governorate’s capital.

The sources reported that the clashes, which witnessed the use of medium and heavy weapons, resulted in the death of a woman and the injury of another who happened to be passing by the site of the clashes by accident.

The clashes were attributed to revenge between the two tribes amid armed tensions in the region.

It is noteworthy that the Shabwa directorates are witnessing repeated tensions between the tribesmen amidst a clear absence of state authority since the year 2016.
