FM: Pro-coalition Yemeni side continues to impede UN envoy efforts

SANAA, July 23 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Monday said the other Yemeni side loyal to Saudi-led coalition continues to impede the efforts of the UN special envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, through irresponsible statements.

The minister reviewed, during his meeting in Sanaa with Head of the office of the UN envoy, Nicola Davies, the recent efforts made by the UN envoy aiming at breaking the political stalemate and resuming the political negotiations to reach a settlement that ends the aggression and siege impose on Yemen.

In the meeting, Sharaf reiterated the readiness of the Supreme Political Council and the National Salvation Government to engage in the political negotiations to achieve a just and honorable peace for the Yemeni people and restore security, peace and stability to Yemen.

He pointed out that the exiled resigned president Hadi’s government loyal to the coalition took unilateral steps and actions that increase the humanitarian suffering of Yemeni citizens.
