Islah Party factions abduct activist in Marib

MARIB, Feb. 06 (YPA) – The Islah Party’s factions loyal to the Saudi-led coalition kidnapped an activist in the city of Marib and took him to one of their notorious detention centers.

According to a human rights source in the city, an armed group affiliated with the Islah party stormed on Wednesday the home of the activist known as “Abu Al-Ahrar Al-Salali” and detained him due to posts in which he criticized the killing of the poet Rashid Al-Hatam, who died under torture in a prison known as “Political Security,” which is under the supervision of the coalition.

The source added that Al-Salali worked within the ranks of the factions allied with the coalition, warning that those responsible for those detention centers may announce that Al-Salali had “committed suicide” in the coming days, as sometimes happens to cover up violations.

In a related context, the death of the young man Majid Mubarak Saeed Al-Amiri Al-Jahmi, a member of the Jahm tribe, was recorded after he was tortured in an Islah prison in the city of Marib. This came only two days after the death of the poet Rashid Al-Hatam under the same circumstances.
