China vows retaliatory measures against US tariffs

WORLD, Feb. 02 (YPA) -China’s Ministry of Commerce said it would take similar measures in response to the tariffs imposed by the United States on Chinese products.

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce stated that “China expresses strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to this matter,” in response to the 10% tariff imposed on Chinese imports to the United States.

It added that “the Chinese side urges the United States to correct its wrong actions, meet China halfway, resolve issues based on the principles of equality, mutual benefit, and mutual respect, engage in candid dialogue, enhance cooperation, and manage differences.”

The ministry emphasized that such a conflict does not serve the interests of either party and is detrimental to the global economy, affirming that it will take similar measures in response to the tariffs imposed by Trump.

Earlier, President Donald Trump signed an executive order imposing tariffs on goods from China, Canada, and Mexico.

The tariffs imposed by the United States on imports from Mexico and Canada reached 25%, while tariffs on imports from China were set at 10%.
