Israeli occupation forces continue their military aggression on Tulkarm for seventh consecutive day

WEST BANK, Feb. 02 (YPA) -Israeli occupation forces have continued their military aggression on the city of Tulkarm and its refugee camp for the seventh consecutive day, imposing a tight siege and escalating their attacks on homes and infrastructure.

According to the Palestinian sources, that Israeli occupation forces, accompanied by police dogs, raided homes across various neighborhoods of Tulkarm and its outskirts last night. They searched the homes, interrogated residents in the field, and checked their identities. However, no detentions were reported.

Israeli reinforcements were also deployed to Tulkarm, tightening the siege on the city and the refugee camp. The occupation forces also continued their blockade of Thabet Thabet Government Hospital and Al-Israa Specialist Hospital, obstructing ambulance movements and medical teams.

The city has also witnessed a large deployment of Israeli infantry forces and snipers stationed on the rooftops of residential and commercial buildings, which were seized and turned into military outposts, particularly in the central market and the western and eastern districts.

In Tulkarm refugee camp, Israeli forces intensified their siege, deploying heavily armed units throughout its alleys and placing snipers on high-rise buildings. They raided homes, forced residents to evacuate at gunpoint, and conducted extensive searches.

Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli troops have escalated house demolitions inside the camp, bringing in a heavy D10 bulldozer and leveling homes and commercial shops in the Sawalmeh and Hammam neighborhoods.

Additionally, the occupation forces broke into dozens of homes, destroying their contents and drilling holes in walls to move between adjacent buildings. Terrified residents, including children, the elderly, and women, were forced to evacuate under the threat of weapons.

The occupation forces have also seized more high-rise buildings inside and around the camp, turning them into military outposts for snipers. Infantry units continue to spread between homes and narrow alleys, further tightening control over the camp.

The military aggression has caused widespread destruction to infrastructure, cutting off essential services such as water, electricity, internet, and telecommunications.

The blockade has also led to severe shortages of food, medicine, drinking water, and baby formula.

Meanwhile, more families have been forcibly displaced from their homes after Israeli troops expelled them and threatened them against returning.
