Cold weather expected to sweep across several areas of Yemen

SANAA, Jan. 29 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expected on Wednesday cold weather in several areas of Yemeni provinces.

In a weather bulletin, the center affirmed that the cold weather would target Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Bayda and the highlands of Ibb, Mahweet, Taiz, Lahj, Abyan, Dhalea, Shabwa, Hadramout and Mahra.

It pointed out that the coastal areas would be partly cloudy with the possibility of scattered rains on parts of the western and southern coasts, and the Socotra Archipelago, with active winds reaching a maximum speed of 20 knots at the entrance to Bab al-Mandab and the southern Red Sea.

The bulletin also warned motorists of poor horizontal visibility due to fog and water mist formation on mountain slopes.
