Teacher dies on sidewalk after being denied treatment over inability to pay in Taiz

TAIZ, Jan. 28 (YPA) -A teacher died on the sidewalk near a government hospital in the city of Taiz, which is under the control of the Islah Party, after he was discharged from the hospital due to his inability to pay for treatment, local sources reported on Monday.

The sources stated that ‘the teacher, Ali Al-Ssaarh, breathed his last in front of the Republican Hospital in Taiz after being discharged from the cardiology department because he lacked the necessary funds to pay for the surgery he needed.

Activists and social media pages shared photos showing the body of the teacher, Ali Al-Ssarh, lying on a sidewalk after his death.

The tragic death of the teacher sparked widespread anger and resentment among the people of Taiz.

They  demanded accountability for the hospital administration and condemned the government and authorities loyal to Saudi-led coalition, for the suffering endured by teachers due to the difficult living conditions, poverty, and illness.
