GAZA, Jan. 26 (YPA) – Mohammad al-Hindi, deputy secretary-general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, revealed that the movement had agreed to release the Israeli prisoner “Arbel Yehud” before next Saturday, in exchange for the release of 30 Palestinian prisoners.
This decision comes after the return of displaced people from southern Gaza to the northern regions became dependent on her release.
In his remarks today, Hindi mentioned that the movement agreed to this deal in order to remove the pretext used by the occupation and to ensure the return of displaced people to the northern Gaza Strip.
In a related statement, the Al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades confirmed that the Israeli prisoner, Arbel Yehud, was captured by a joint force from the Brigades and the Al-Qassam Brigades on October 7, 2023.
Meanwhile, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu issued statements on Saturday, claiming that “Israel” would not allow the residents of Gaza to return to the northern part of the Strip until arrangements for the release of the detained Arbel Yehud are made, which is expected to take place next Saturday according to statements from Hamas.
