Egg prices soar in Aden

ADEN, Jan. 18 (YPA) – Egg prices have soared to record levels in the city of Aden, southern Yemen, with accusations directed at Saudi-led coalition for exacerbating the suffering of citizens.

 Activists on social media reported that the price of a single egg has reached 300 riyals in recent hours.

 They explained that the price of eggs has surged from 250 to 300 riyals over the past two days, coinciding with the rise in the value of the dollar against the Yemeni riyal.

 The activists mocked the competition between the price of eggs and gold, due to the rise in the dollar, which has reached 2170 riyals, blaming the lack of market regulation.
