SHABWA, Jan. 17 (YPA) – At least six individuals were killed in a drone strike, which is thought to have been conducted by a US aircraft, in the Shabwa governorate of southeastern Yemen.
Informed sources reported that an unknown drone strike targeted a gathering of several individuals believed to be affiliated with Al-Qaeda, in the Wadi Khora area in the “Merkhah As Sufla”, killing six people, including ‘Ammar Saleh Mohammad Al-Awlaqi.’
Al-Awlaqi hails from the Nisab district, west of the city of Ataq, the governorate’s center, according to the source.
So far, the UAE-backed factions in Shabwa have not made any statement or comment on the incident.
