ADEN, Jan. 08 (YPA) – The city of Aden, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition in southern Yemen, witnessed a serious assassination attempt targeting a member of the Al-Jaadna tribe from Abyan governorate.
Informed sources reported that an armed group aboard a military vehicle belonging to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) opened fire on the car of a citizen from the Al-Jaadna tribe while he was passing through the city.
According to the sources, the shooting was intended to open the road for the armed vehicle to pass.
The targeted citizen narrowly escaped, while the gunmen fled to an unknown location, leaving the scene shrouded in questions about the identity of those behind the incident.
This incident comes amid rising tensions between the Al-Jaadna tribe and the Transitional Council in Aden, with ongoing demands from the tribe for the disclosure of the fate of Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani, who has been kidnapped and forcibly disappeared since last July in the detention facilities of the STC.
