Israeli forces occupy new areas in southern Syria amid locals’ resistance

DAMASCUS, Jan. 06 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces continued to expand into new towns in the Quneitra countryside, southern Syria, overnight (Sunday-Monday).

Syrian activists and media reports revealed that Zionist occupation forces entered the village of Kudna, south of Quneitra, with armored vehicles, bulldozed tens of dunams of forest land, and worked to excavate sites in Tal Ahmar and the surrounding area.

This came amid attempts by villagers to prevent the occupation forces from advancing towards their villages after the new rulers of Syria turned a blind eye to the Israeli enemy’s occupation of Syrian lands.

In a related context, the Syrian Human Rights Observatory reported that Zionist forces erected dirt barriers along the road leading to the village’s forest area, causing the closure of schools and disrupting the entire educational process.

The Observatory reported that the Israeli occupation forces arrested a young man from the Al-Alia town in the countryside of Daraa, without providing any information about the reason for his arrest.
