Landlord sets fire to family’s apartment over dispute over rent currency

TAIZ, Jan. 06 (YPA) – A building owner set fire to his tenant and his children in the city of Taiz.

According to sources, the landlord set fire to the apartment of tenant Mufeed Al-Husami while he was inside with his wife and four children in the Old Airport area, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition.

The incident occurred following a dispute over whether the rent should be paid in Yemeni riyals or Saudi riyals.

Sources also revealed that Al-Husami, a pro-coalition member injured in Taiz, has been marginalized and neglected by pro-coalition authorities in terms of his economic situation.

The attack has been widely condemned by the residents of Taiz and activists on social media.
