ADDIS ABABA, Jan. 04 (YPA) – An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale struck Ethiopia at 00:52 GMT on Saturday, according to the German Research Center for Geosciences.
According to Ethiopian media, it was not immediately possible to know whether the earthquake had caused human or material damage.
The epicenter of the earthquake was initially determined to be at a depth of ten kilometers, at latitude 9.42 degrees north and longitude 40.13 degrees east.
During the last two weeks, Ethiopia has witnessed repeated earthquakes, the number of which exceeded 120, so that the year 2024 will achieve a record number of earthquakes compared to recent years.
