OCCUPIED QUDS, Dec. 24 (YPA) – Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, preacher of the Holy Al-Aqsa Mosque and head of the Supreme Islamic Committee for the Defense of Al-Quds, confirmed that the Jewish holidays and extremists’ calls to revive their rituals in Al-Aqsa reveal Israeli occupation’s hidden ambitions in the war to control the mosque.
Extremist settlement groups are mobilizing their supporters to organize provocative marches and extensive raids on the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque during the holiday of “Lights” (Hanukkah) (December 25).
Al-Aqsa Mosque preacher warned that the occupation authorities have crossed limits in their games targeting the sanctity of Al-Aqsa and its religious and historical status, holding them fully responsible for any steps that affect the holy mosque.
“The Jews are seeking through the ongoing war to achieve one goal, which is to lay their hands on Al-Aqsa Mosque, in an exposed and rejected game,” Sheikh Sabri said. He emphasized the full right of Palestinians and Muslims to the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In this context, Sheikh Sabri warned against Zionist settlers’ calls to target and harm the Islamic Endowments Department. “They want to expel the Endowments Department and prevent it from working, in order to impose their complete control over Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
The Zionist settlers are keen to perform the religious rituals of their holidays inside Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to establish the moral foundation of their alleged “temple” in preparation for its actual construction in place of the mosque.
