Syrian intelligence officer survives assassination attempt in Albukamal

DAMASCUS, Dec. 22 (YPA) – A former officer in the Syrian army’s military intelligence division survived on Sunday an assassination attempt in the city of Albukamal in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

Former Syrian military intelligence officer Mohammed Rafeh Al-Malh was seriously injured by unknown gunmen near the ‘Al-Masriyah’ roundabout in Albukamal, which is under the control of the “SDF” forces, according to Syrian media reports.

The sources stated that the targeted officer was attacked while returning from a settlement center announced by the Syrian Interim Government’s Military Operations Department on December 17, aiming to resolve the situation of former Syrian army members.
