MOSCOW, Dec. 12 (YPA) – Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, “Israeli actions in Syria violate the terms of the Syrian-Israeli agreement and only exacerbate the already difficult situation in the country.”
This came in Zakharova’s press briefing yesterday, Wednesday, where she continued: “The actions of the Israeli armed forces, which occupied the buffer zone in the Golan and a number of neighboring areas, clearly violate the terms of the Syrian-Israeli agreement regarding the separation of forces of 1974.”
She stated that the international community expresses its deep concern about the actions taken by the Israeli air force, which launches large-scale attacks with missiles and bombs on military and civilian targets on Syrian territory. “The developments in the current situation in Syria are very difficult.”
According to Zakharova, Moscow believes that “in light of the extremely difficult military and political circumstances in which Syria finds itself, all members of the international community, especially neighboring countries, need to show restraint and the highest degree of responsibility.”
