UAE-backed forces launch arrest campaign targeting Mocha sheikhs

MOCHA, Nov. 26 (YPA) – The UAE-backed forces of Tariq Afash, the former president Ali Abdullah Saleh, carried out an arrest campaign targeting sheikhs and social figures in the Al Mocha district, west of Taiz province.

Local sources said the Tariq Afash-run Mocha Security Department arrested a group of social figures, including Sheikh Hamoud Rajih, Sheikh Fadl Al-Zawqari, and others.

The sources did not indicate the reasons for the campaign, which comes amid escalating tensions between these forces and the people of Mocha.

While other sources suggested that the reasons for the arrests were due to hundreds of citizens taking part in popular rallies in the city to protest the deteriorating conditions.
