Saudi Arabia welcomes LGBTQ community to enter its territory

RIYADH, Nov. 17 (YPA) – Head of the Saudi Arabia 2034 World Cup Bid Unit, Hammad Albalawi, said that everyone will be welcomed to attend the 2034 World Cup events.

On December 11, Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the 2034 World Cup will be confirmed during the FIFA conference, as Saudi Arabia is the only country that has applied to host.

In response to a question from the sports website ” FourFourTwo” about the presence of homosexuals or transgender in the World Cup, especially homosexuality is criminalized in Saudi Arabia, Albalawi said: “We have already witnessed many developments here, you are talking about the “LGBTQ community.”

“We received 27 million tourists last year, and we had more than 100 international sporting events attended by three million sports fans,” he added. “These fans entered the country, we respected the privacy law, and they enjoyed their time, and here they are visiting us again.”

Albalawi went on to say: “You will be respected here, and you will be hosted with open arms and open hearts.”
