GAZA, Nov. 03 (YPA) – The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas denied on Saturday the information published by the Saudi newspaper “Asharq Al-Awsat” about the fate of the commander of Al-Qassam Brigades, Muhammad al-Deif.
The movement said in a statement, “There is no truth to what was reported in the London-based Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, attributed to what it said was a source in the movement regarding the fate of the Mujahid leader Muhammad al-Daif—may Allah protect him.”
The movement renewed its call to all media outlets to investigate accuracy, credibility, and professionalism.
The Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, owned by Saudi Arabia, published news Saturday stating that “Commander Mohammed al-Deif was killed during an assassination operation carried out by the Israeli occupation army that targeted the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis city last July, according to informed sources in Hamas.”
The Saudi media is criticized for presenting the Israeli version of events since the beginning of the war on the Gaza Strip.
