TEHRAN, Oct. 26 (YPA) -Iran’s air defense successfully intercepted attempts by Israeli forces to conduct aerial strikes on various locations within Iran early Saturday morning.
The Air Defense Base issued a statement on Saturday, saying that the criminal, illegitimate and fake regime of Israel in a move to escalate tensions launched attacks on some military sites in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan and Ilam in the early hours of today.
The country’s air defenses intercepted and successfully confronted the acts of aggression, it said, adding that some limited damage was caused in some areas, the dimensions of which are being investigated.
Reports noted that loud explosions were heard around 2:15 AM local time, especially in western Tehran, with air defense fire reported in eastern and central Tehran around 5 AM.
An anonymous US official claimed that the Israeli response to Iran had concluded and urged Tehran not to retaliate, asserting that the US stands ready to defend Israel.
An informed source told Tasnim News Agency that the Israeli military’s claim of striking 20 targets in Iran is unrealistic and falls within the realm of psychological warfare.
The source emphasized that the actual number of targets was significantly lower, refuting the narrative presented by Israel regarding the scale of its operations.
He confirmed that the strikes originated outside Iranian borders and resulted in limited damage, emphasizing that no Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps facilities were targeted in Tehran.
Additionally, the source dismissed reports of 100 Israeli military aircraft participating in the strikes, asserting that such claims are exaggerated and part of an effort to inflate the perceived strength of the Israeli attack.
The agency confirmed that no military centers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard were hit in western and southwestern Tehran.
