Serious Israeli escalation in northern Gaza leaves casualties, widespread destruction

GAZA, Oct. 23 (YPA) – In the early hours of Wednesday, northern Gaza witnessed a serious military escalation by Israeli occupation forces, with warplanes carrying out more than 20 airstrikes on various areas of the Strip.

Palestinian sources reported the deaths and injuries of dozens, including women and children, as a result of attacks on civilian homes.

An Israeli airstrike targeted a house west of Jabalia city, leaving many casualties .

The sources also confirmed hearing loud explosions in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood, accompanied by heavy gunfire from occupation forces.

The occupation aircraft targeted the Jabalia refugee camp using heavy bombs, in addition to strikes in the Al-Tawam area northwest of Gaza City and around Sheikh Radwan pond.

In an earlier strike on the Zaid bin Haritha school in Beit Lahia, where displaced individuals were taking refuge, seven people were killed.

For the third consecutive week, the occupation continues its siege of northern Gaza, persisting in bombing homes and forcibly displacing residents while preventing the entry of food, medical supplies, and other essential goods.

The Israeli army has expanded the geographical area targeted for demolition and destruction of residential buildings in the northern Gaza Governorate.
