Germany confirms its continued support for “Israel” with weapons
BRUSSELS, Oct. 17 (YPA) – German Chancellor Olaf Scholz confirmed on Thursday that Berlin would continue to help the Israeli occupation “defend itself” by supplying it with weapons.
He added that “Israel” must adhere to international law, noting that the two-state solution is the ultimate goal.
He stated on the sidelines of the European Union leaders’ summit: “For me, it is clear that supporting Israel also means that we always guarantee its defense capacity, for example by supplying military equipment or weapons.”
The United States of America is considered the largest arms supplier to the Israeli entity, with 69% of arms imports, in addition to financial aid, financing of military programs and defense systems, and joint development of various military systems.
Germany is the second largest arms exporter to the entity and represents 30% of the occupation’s arms imports, in the form of ammunition, ground vehicles, military technology, and weapons development and maintenance.
