France: Stopping arms exports to “Israel” is only way to end war

PARIS, Oct. 12 (YPA) – French President Emmanuel Macron has renewed his call to stop exports of weapons used in the war on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, adding that it is the only possible way to end the Israeli war.

Macron said in a press conference in Cyprus at the conclusion of the MED9 summit that brings together the European Union countries bordering the Mediterranean, “This is in no way a call to disarm Israel. Rather, it is a call to stop any destabilization in this part of the world.”

He stressed the necessity of a ceasefire in Gaza and in Lebanon. “It is now necessary for both our hostages and the civilian population who are victims of violence, and to avoid territorial expansion (of the conflict).”

The French President said last Saturday that arms shipments used in the war on Gaza must stop as part of broader efforts to find a political solution.
