ADEN, Oct. 09 (YPA) – Yemen’s Aden city, which is under the control of the coalition, has witnessed a new dose in the price of cooking gas on Tuesday, amid a state of great discontent among citizens.
Dozens of citizens and car drivers complained about the increase in the price of a gas cylinder to 9,000 riyals, an increase of 1,500 riyals, without any notification from the coalition-backed government justifying the increase.
The increase in the price of gas angered residents in various parts of the city, which led to some stations in Khormaksar, Mualla, Crater, and Tawahi closing their doors to citizens who went to look for gas, amid expectations of a revival in the black market in the city.
Citizens demanded an end to the tampering and extortion practiced by the local authority affiliated with the Saudi-formed Presidential Transitional Council, which would negatively affect citizens in the form of increased transportation fares.
