Over 59 members of Al-Shabaab movement killed in Somalia attacks

MOGADISHU, Oct. 09 (YPA) – More than 59 members of the Al-Qaeda-linked Al-Shabaab movement were killed on Tuesday in two military operations in Galgaduud and Middle Shabelle provinces in central Somalia.

The Somali News Agency said that the killed included some leaders, while four soldiers were killed during the implementation of the first military operation.

In the second operation, 27 members of the organization were also killed in an airstrike targeting them in Middle Shabelle Province, the sources said.

The sources added the military operation resulted in the destruction of a base for the organization’s members in the region.
