ADEN, July 18 (YPA) – A security officer was assassinated on Thursday by unknown gunmen in Yemen’s southern province of Aden, while Imam Mosque survived an assassination attempt, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.
Unknown gunmen opened fire on a security official called Saif al-Dhaleai, who is working in Mansoura prison in the city of Aden, killing him immediately, media sources close to the coalition quoted security source as saying.
The assassination operation took place in front of Fuel Express Station, while the gunmen fled, the sources added.
In the same context, the Imam and preacher of Al-Adel mosque called “Sheikh Ali Bawazi” survived an assassination attempt by planting an explosive device in his car this morning in Anma city.
According to sources close to him, they said that the explosive device went off, but Sheikh Ali Bawazi escaped from it.
Aden city and other southern provinces, under the control of the UAE occupation forces, have been witnessing a case of chaos insecurity amid the spread of armed groups of al-Qaeda and Daesh and increasing violations against civil and military figures.
