Ariel attacks target pro-coalition militants in Taiz

TAIZ, Oct. 04 (YPA) – Several military sites under the control of Saudi-led coalition forces came under attacks in the Al-Wazi’iyah district, west of Taiz governorate, following armed clashes in the area.

Local sources revealed that the “Tariq Affash” forces, funded by the UAE, established military positions and fortifications near the villages in the Al-Dharif market in the same district.

It was reported that the establishment of these military sites by Affash’s forces followed confrontations with armed groups from the Al-Alaqmi tribe, led by the former commander of the Rapid Intervention Brigade, Abu Diyab Al-Alqami, in the Al-Dharif Triangle market on Thursday.

The sources confirmed that the Al-Alaqmi’s groups located in the Al-Khizan Hill and other sites were targeted by mortar shelling and drone strikes after being surrounded in the Al-Dharif market.

It was noted that Al-Alqami rejected the establishment of a police station in one of the schools last Sunday, which prompted Affash’s forces to send military reinforcements to the area.

The sources indicated that the area was relatively calm on Friday, despite the ongoing military reinforcements and preparations, signaling a potential new round of clashes following the arrival of Al-Alqami’s armed reinforcements.
